A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the exact same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from partners or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with a few clicks of the mouse if you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The hosting account will be administered via our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses under any domain hosted there. To activate the catch-all functionality for a particular mailbox, you will have to click on the symbol with the exact same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling this option can be done in the same manner and will not require more than a click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been activated for a certain domain, you will get a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or edit anything automatically.
